Privacy policy

MonBien is an online real estate platform for the Democratic Republic of the Congo. You can use it to find a property to buy or rent, contact real estate agents, and have land documents verified.

You can browse listings without an account. We collect only the data that each use needs:

• Browsing: pages and listings you view, device type, the page you came from, a random session ID, and your IP address (technical logs).
• Contacting an agent: your name, phone number, email (optional) and message.
• Document verification request: your name, country of residence, email and/or WhatsApp number, and details about the property (document type, city, commune, seller name, asking price, other details).
• Support and agent reports: your name, email or phone, the reason, and your message.
• Agent account: name, email, password (stored in encrypted form — we never see it), phone and WhatsApp, and the profile details you add (photo, company, logo, bio, languages, areas, specialties, website).
• Listings an agent publishes: photos, videos, description, price and location of the property.

• To run the site: show listings and manage agent accounts.
• To connect you: send your request to the agent you contact.
• To handle your verification request and send you the report.
• To answer support messages and handle reports.
• To protect the site: prevent fraud, abuse and fake listings.
• To measure traffic and improve the site.
• To measure how well our ads on Facebook, Instagram and Google work.

We do not sell your personal data.

An agent's profile and listings are public: anyone can see them. This includes the contact details the agent chooses to show. We do not show the exact address (street and number) of a property.

MonBien creates some listings from posts that agents made public, for example on social media. These listings carry a special label and do not show the author’s name or number. The agent can take over the listing or ask us to remove it at any time.

• The agent you contact receives your name, contact details and message.
• Our technical providers, who process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and sign-in), Hetzner (hosting), Cloudflare (network, security and traffic measurement), Resend (email delivery).
• Our measurement and advertising partners: Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook, Instagram).
• WhatsApp: when you tap a WhatsApp button, the conversation happens in WhatsApp, under its own rules.
• Authorities, only when the law requires it.

We use cookies and similar technologies:

• Necessary: keep an agent signed in to their dashboard.
• Measurement: count listing views during your visit.
• Measurement and advertising: Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta pixel, loaded through Cloudflare. They record page views and some actions (for example a WhatsApp click or a submitted request). This information may also be sent directly from our servers to Meta, with technical data such as your IP address and browser.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also manage your ad preferences in your Google and Facebook accounts.

Our providers store data on servers outside the DRC, including in Europe and the United States. We choose established providers that protect data.

We keep agent account data while the account exists. We keep requests (contact, verification, support) as long as we need to handle them and follow up. After that, we delete them or make them anonymous, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only the people who need the data can access it. No system is perfectly safe: if a data breach affects you, we will tell you.

At any time, you can:

• ask for a copy of the data we hold about you;
• have incorrect data corrected;
• ask us to delete your data or your account;
• object to the use of your data for advertising.

Agents can edit their profile and listings in their dashboard. For anything else, write to [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.

MonBien is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data about minors.

We may change this policy. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. If we make an important change, we will say so on the site.
